Our New Venue, the Beautiful Nile Country Club got Rave Reviews
It is said that change is good. That, however, doesn't make it
any less scary.
To move an event that had enjoyed over a decade at it's previous
location was indeed a big step. In the end, it turned out to be
a good decision.
Guests came up to us all day long to express their approval of
the new venue. Even our feature couple, Decho and Bree, who had
featured the event at it's old location three years earlier,
highly approved. In Decho's own words, "This venue is perfect
for a Ballroom event. It's very nice."
Sure, there were a few glitches, but, nothing that can't be
fixed next time. Overall, the move was well received.

The 26th NW Dance Extravaganza had it All
If for some crazy reason you couldn't make it to the the event,
you missed out on a wonderful day of dance!
This year's Extravaganza had it all. Several team demos, free
Jack & Jill contests, a free West Coast Swing workshop,
Argentine Tango demo, Standard Ballroom demo, Latin demos,
Theater Arts demos, W.C. Swing demo, Chicago Style Steppin demo,
and plenty of social dancing. What a shame if you had to miss
all this! It truly was a lot of bang for your buck!
Your Dinner Show Performances
We would like to thank 12 very special dancers who put on what
was probably the BEST Dinner Show ever! Keep in mind that this
special showcase of dancing was exclusive to those who had
dinner tickets.
Our many thanks to:
DECHO KRAEV & BREE WATSON. Decho & Bree gave our dinner guests
their first glimpse of the exquisite dancing of this Nationally
ranked couple. Their Theater Arts Bolero was to die for!
MICHELLE BADION & WLADIMIR PINO. Michelle and Vlad's Argentine
Tango demo was quite unique and more than filled the bill for
this intriguing dance style.
JONATHAN & CAROLYN HUGGETT. British Columbia's Sr. Standard
Champs had the biggest challenge. Standard dancers in general
prefer a really big floor, but Jonathan and Carolyn handled the
task with grace and elegance.
NORBERT TESTON & JESSICA LINDSEY. This Latin couple from
Portland just get better and better every time we see them. They
have now developed a very good repoire with their audience.
NATHAN FONTES & DELAYNA ROWE. What a beautiful Theater Arts
Waltz solo this local couple performed. And, yes, it's true.
They have just become engaged to be married. Congratulations
guys!
ROBB BRYAN & BRIANNE GREEN. Our featured instructors for the
afternoon complimentary workshop came back in the evening with a
little lead and follow impromptu number which was quite
enjoyable.
That was our Dinner Show line up at the event, and we would like
to thank you all for a delightful showcase of dancing!
THE TEAM DEMOS WERE GREAT!
This year's Extravaganza audience enjoyed the talents of three
wonderful dance teams. Our thanks go out to:
The Pacific Ballroom Dance Team
Bellingham Stars Youth Dance Team
Studio 6 Casino Rueda Team
ADDED THANKS
A special thank you to STEVE LABOO & ADA WILLIAMS for their
Chicago Style Steppin demo. This dance seems to be catching on
in the area, and, was a first time demo for us.
Also to CHAD BROOKS & JESSICA LINDSEY for their phenomenal
Theater Arts demo. It was awesome!
And, last but not least, a huge thank you to Decho and Bree for
accepting this return engagement to our fair city. You are the
BEST!

THOSE THAT MADE IT HAPPEN
Our talented staff works hard for the guests to ensure that
everyone has the best time possible. Many thanks to our talented
DJ, the incomparable Mr. Terry "Wild Wild" West. Congratulations
to Terry on a well deserved nomination to the Swing DJ's Hall of
Fame!
Our Master of Ceremonies for the daytime was Denny Balascio. He
managed, in his calm manner, to keep things moving right along
so that everything stayed on schedule. In the evening he handed
the microphone over to the incomparable Miss Shannon Knauss.
(who, we might add, was in rare form).
Equally demanding were the jobs of our outstanding judges. Our
many thanks to Neil Gilligan, Don Walker, Shannon Knauss and
Loretta Turin. A special thank you to Shannon who pulled double
duty by judging the day session and switching to mc for the
evening session.
You were all fabulous!
Registrar Rae Ellen Reas was assisted by Joanne Love, and Karl
Riggs handled the important duty of Scrutineer without a hitch.
Anita Williams worked the door and Tom Park played chauffer for
our feature couple. The program turned out beautiful thanks to
the efforts of Joanne Love.
Thank you one and all for your diligence in making the 26th NW
Dance Extravaganza a big success!

DADDY'S GONNA EAT YOUR FINGERS!
The youngest Offutt daughter, Cathy, just had twin daughters.
Upon their arrival, Lynn sent Cathy this cute story:
This one is for everyone who...
a) has kids
b) had kids
c) was a kid
d) knows a kid
e) is going to have kids.
I guess that means all of us!!
DADDY'S GONNA EAT YOUR FINGERS
I was packing for my business trip and my three year old
daughter was having a wonderful time playing on the bed. At one
point she said, 'Daddy, look at this', and stuck out two of her
fingers.
Trying to keep her entertained, I reached out and stuck her tiny
fingers in my mouth and said, 'Daddy's gonna eat your fingers,'
pretending to eat them.
I went back to packing, looked up again and my daughter was
standing on the bed staring at her fingers with a devastated
look on her face.
I said, 'What's wrong, honey?'
.
.
.
.
.
.
She replied,
'What happened to my booger?'
