 "When the NW Dance Extravaganza took its maiden voyage 37 years ago, it was the only event of its kind anywhere in the Pacific Northwest. To be clear, the time was right.

The first Extravaganza featured 10-year undefeated US representatives to the Worlds, Ron Montez and Liz Curtis. Over the next three decades, the event featured a variety of talented couples. Couples such as Corky & Shirley Ballas, Tony Meridith & Melanie LaPatin, Rick & Sandy Valenzuela, Donnie Burns & Gaynor Fairweather, Nick Cotton & Marylyn Benitez, Bob Power & Julia Gorchakova, Andrei & Natale’ Paramonov, along with Decho Kraev & Bree Watson. These are but a few of the many talented couples that have over the years graced the ballroom floor at the NW Dance Extravaganza. Organizer Lynn Offutt would like to offer her heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you!

The Extravaganza continues to be the longest-running Ballroom competition event held anywhere in the Pacific Northwest.

This year, Lynn is excited to introduce to all who have supported the event for these many years her choice as the new owner of the event: Dascha Wright and Danylo Yanchyshyn. Under their expert guidance, the Dance Extravaganza is sure to continue to grow for another 35 years!
